LEXI'S FIRST TIME AT THE POOL (6.5months)

May 3rd, 2011

With all this awesome weather we're having I decided to get our sick bodies out of the house and into some Vitamin D.  We got all packed up and headed to the pool for some fun in the sun!

Oh my goodness she had such a good time!

My personal favorite picture.  God I love that face! XOXO

It was so cute to watch her sit on the step & splash the water.  I love this age!!!

She has just recently discovered shadows & is amazed by them, lol!

VIDEOS:
Sorry, these were taken with my camera & I can't figure out how to rotate the 2nd one :(

What a Combination!

Miss Lexi came down with her first cold and has been battling it since Easter Sunday.  Poor baby has had a runny nose, cough, and chapped face that just won't go away.  I bought her a cute froggy humidifier, smothered her in Vicks & Aquaphor, used the nasal aspirator, bought nose drops, used a Vicks plug in, and even elevated one side of her mattress.  Nothing.  Last week she woke up with a slight wheeze and I decided that's where I drew the line.  I took her to the doctor and she had what Dr. Drake called Bronchiolitis, not to be confused with Bronchitis.  The doctor prescribed her Albuterol which is usually used on asthma kids (oh please God don't let her develop asthma later on!) and between that and all my methods, I am happy to report she's doing much better.  I have already taken her off the medicine because it was "use as needed" and the only remedy still in place is her elevated mattress.
Poor baby had such a hard time sleeping the 1st & 2nd nights that this is what finally worked
Pictured above: 6months, pictured below: 18 days.  Our little love bug is just growing so fast.
Remember when she was just a little thing in that swing?  It used to be the only way to make her stop crying but now it makes her cry...unless she's sick I guess!
So last Saturday in the middle of the night while this whole sickness mess was going on, Lexi woke up crying.  As I started nursing her back to sleep I realized she was having trouble with her yucky nose.  I took her into the bathroom to use the nasal aspirator and of course she was screaming her head off so Edson came in to help me.  As I'm sucking away and she's screaming away, we realized there was a deeper problem.  Not only was she sick but the poor girl was getting all 4 top teeth in at the same time!!!!  What a combination!  My heart sunk right at that moment.  She woke up in pain and here we were holding the poor thing down & sucking boogers out of her nose.  Well, I guess that had to be done too, but still.  So after all that, a diaper change, some teething gel, and some cuddling, she was right back to sleep.
Look at all the drool on her PJ's :(

Grandpa Soria's birthday (April 23rd):

Easter Sunday (April 24th):
Lexi (almost 6.5months) started coming down with her first cold (from Kids Club I'm assuming) so I got to snap a few pictures before we had to change clothes.

Her newest trick is to lie her head down on things.  It just melts my heart, especially when she does it on me! :)
