Poor baby's in pain :(

So, so sad.

Bling, Bling!

Someone got her ears pierced yesterday at the Claire's at Victoria Gardens in Rancho Cucamonga!

I know some people are totally against ear piercing for religious reasons and others feel it's cruel, but to each his own.  We aren't trying to decorate her or make her look prettier or anything like that.  My reasoning behind doing it while she's a baby is just because of my experience.

I still to this day remember the terror I felt just anticipating getting it done.  I wanted my ears pierced so bad in elementary school but it took multiple trips to the mall before I finally built up enough courage to actually go through with it.  I remember one time on the short drive to the mall I sat in the back seat and pinched my ears repeatedly just wondering how bad it would hurt.  To make matters worse, I had to have them pierced twice because the first time we found out the hard way that I was allergic to nickel.  The anticipation was definitely worse than the process though.

As for Lexi, it seemed that sitting still was worse than the process.  She is such a wiggle worm these days and did not like me holding her head.  Her ears were pierced one at a time with a very small, white hole punch looking thing (much different than the loud airgun they used on my ears so many years ago) and she did beautifully.  She only cried for a minute and that was it.  Done.  She has no problem with us cleaning them, nothing!  I on the other hand was a nervous wreck.  I even grilled the worker on her experience and if they had to be certified & such, lol.  Poor girl.

Edson's 1st Father's Day

We had such a nice day yesterday.  It started out with Lexi & I going to the store to buy all the right ingredients for Edson's perfect Father's Day breakfast.  We made him eggs, hash-browns, biscuits & gravy with chunks of turkey sausage, and coffee with Vanilla Chai Late creamer.  While breakfast was cooking he opened his gifts (a gift cert for a 1hr massage, new black work socks, and a personalized coffee mug and mouse pad with pics of him & Lexi on them).
Good Morning Daddy; Happy 1st Father's Day!!!  You are such an incredible dad and an amazing role model.  Watching Lexi light up when she sees you just speaks volumes.  You're such a loving, patient person and we are so lucky to have you in our lives.  We love you!!!

Lexi was trying to drink out of his mug, lol!
Since Saturday we celebrated Father's Day with Edson's Family, after breakfast we quickly got ready and headed out to Carlsbad to Celebrate with the rest of the dads.

What's a family gathering without a game of poker?

Zoe is such a cutie pie!

The Fathers of the family: Dad, Uncle Steve, Edson, Papa, and Josh.  Unfortunately Ryan is not pictured.  He and Jessie went to the hospital to be with Ryan's dad, Dan, who had heart surgery and then suffered from a small stroke.  We sure were thinking about them all day.  Doctors think he's going to be fine, but what a tough way to spend Father's Day.
HAPPY FATHER'S DAY TO ALL YOU WONDERFUL DADS OUT THERE!!!!

Lexi's on the Move

VIDEO UPDATES:
Just this past week on Thursday I took a video of Lexi attempting to crawl (8mo & 2days old)...

The very next day I took this video...

What a difference a day makes, huh?!  She may not be moving very quick yet but she sure is crawling without any hesitations.  She gets where she needs to go, can climb over objects/people (ha-ha), and pulls herself up on things!

Here's Lexi's Adorable Laugh:

I love this video!  Daddy always seems to be able to make Lexi giggle :)

8 MONTHS

Our little Love Bug turned 8months old last Tuesday!

Our little escape artist

Here are her stats:

length: 27inches?  (she kept moving so it was hard to get a good read)
weight:  17pounds  2ounces
clothing size: 6 months
diaper size: size 3
new likes: being held by Mommy, laughing with Daddy, animals, pickles, chewing on toothbrushes, and taking baths.
dislikes: being put down on her back
eating: same as before.  Breast feeding 2-3/day, home made baby food 2X/day, and 1 meal of rice cereal.
nap: a big one in the morning around 11am (1.5-3hrs) and a 1hr one in the evening around 6.
sleeping: From 9/9:30pm-7:30/8am
new tricks: Lexi's starting to crawl!  She also has no problem pulling herself up on things and loves to stand and play.  She likes to hold the spoon while Mommy feeds her, and makes all kinds of consonant-vowel noises (like baba & mama).  She loves it when Daddy pats her mouth or makes his finger go up & down on her lips while she makes noises and can even do it herself.  She also puts her arms out for Mommy to pick her up, and likes to "dance" whenever there's music.  She moves from crawling to sitting and back without a problem and can sit up on her own now.  Lexi has also mastered the pincer grasp and picks up small objects with her thumb and pointer finger.  This has been quite a big developmental month!

Pincer Grasp:

Yeay!  You did it!!!
