9 Months (2weeks ago)!

Although this post is behind, these pictures are not, lol!

Getting these pictures is becoming more & more challenging!  She does not like to sit still these days and would rather play with the bear than pose for yet ANOTHER picture.

Just for comparison, here is her 6mo picture and the 9mo one (sorry, I don't know how to put them next to each other).  What a difference 3 months makes!

The 9 Month Well Baby Visit:

See the bandage on her arm?
Dr Drake says Lexi's doing great & developing and growing just perfectly.  She said she loves to see all Lexi's fun bows & accessories too, lol!  No shots today, but we did have to go to the lab and have Lexi's blood drawn so they could do a routine check for anemia...that was tough to watch :(  Poor baby was all smiles & "talking" away to the lady until she tied the band around Lexi's arm and stuck the needle in.  That's when Lexi did the "you're not my friend" cry and stuck her bottom lip out.  She was then crabby for about 3minutes & that was it.  After that we picked up her prescription of fluoride with vitamin D drops (I guess they're supposed to take it every day until they're 2!) and we were homeward bound!

Here are her stats:

length: 28inches (50th%)
weight:  17pounds  1.4ounces (50th%)
clothing size: 9 months
diaper size: size 3
new likes: Samson, crawling under things (like chairs, tables, her walker, etc), baby treats & eating with her fingers, pulling herself up on things, the computer, opening cupboards (like the one under the tv that we have now placed velcro around the handles), and drinking from a cup or through a straw.
dislikes: not a huge fan of her walker
eating: Breast feeding 2X/day, home made baby food 2X/day(3oz fruit & 3.5oz veggies), and 1 meal of rice cereal (1/2 cup) and 3oz of fruit.
nap: one in the morning around 11am (1.5-2hrs) and a 1hr one in the evening around 6.
sleeping: From 9pm-7/7:30am
new tricks: She's crawling like crazy now and when she gets chased on hands & knees she gets so excited that she laughs/squeals and falls to her belly and can't move, lol!  It's like she's trying to get away but her mind is working faster than her body.  It's the cutest thing.  She can also walk around in her walker (although she'd rather be crawling), pull herself up on everything and sit back down with ease, walk along the side of the couch while holding on, and has found a new love for Samson.  She constantly crawls over to him and pets him oh so gently and then sits and waits for a reaction.  It's so cute to watch.  And Samson?  He just licks her, changes positions on his bed, or ignores her.
BEST FRIENDS
She LOVES to crawl under EVERYTHING!!!

Did I mention she also likes the tub (and talking)?...

Yep, you've guessed it...we're teething AGAIN!  This is tooth #7 in case you've lost count.

Poor baby's in pain :(

So, so sad.

See the tooth breaking through?  It's to the left of her bottom 2 teeth.  Click on the picture to see a larger view.

Bling, Bling!

Someone got her ears pierced yesterday at the Claire's at Victoria Gardens in Rancho Cucamonga!

I know some people are totally against ear piercing for religious reasons and others feel it's cruel, but to each his own.  We aren't trying to decorate her or make her look prettier or anything like that.  My reasoning behind doing it while she's a baby is just because of my experience.

I still to this day remember the terror I felt just anticipating getting it done.  I wanted my ears pierced so bad in elementary school but it took multiple trips to the mall before I finally built up enough courage to actually go through with it.  I remember one time on the short drive to the mall I sat in the back seat and pinched my ears repeatedly just wondering how bad it would hurt.  To make matters worse, I had to have them pierced twice because the first time we found out the hard way that I was allergic to nickel.  The anticipation was definitely worse than the process though.

As for Lexi, it seemed that sitting still was worse than the process.  She is such a wiggle worm these days and did not like me holding her head.  Her ears were pierced one at a time with a very small, white hole punch looking thing (much different than the loud airgun they used on my ears so many years ago) and she did beautifully.  She only cried for a minute and that was it.  Done.  She has no problem with us cleaning them, nothing!  I on the other hand was a nervous wreck.  I even grilled the worker on her experience and if they had to be certified & such, lol.  Poor girl.
